Based on the amount of material used.

All of our prices are based on a complex algoriythm of the amount of material used and the time required on the printer.  Most of the time this works out to $30 per cubic inch of material.

This is why we need a 3d file to properly quote the cost of your model.

We are also working on some guidlines so you can estimate the model cost yourself.

For example, a 1/8 scale detailed model of a 2500 sf, 2 story residence cost $0.50 per square foot. (Site topographical model was an additional fee) 2500 sf x $0.50/sf = $1250 to print the physical model.  The site cost $300 additional. $0.50/sf is the maximum price for this detailed model.  After the model has completed printing, we can determine exactly how much material and time it took.  This is almost always lower the $0.50/sf.

 

 

 

 

2d Cad conversion to 3d Cad file

We can import your 2d cad files and extrude and create the 3d file required to send to our 3d printers.

These prices are "not to exceed" pricing.  Depending, on the printing cost and/or complexity of your model we often reduce the conversion fee.

Paint

We offer a one color exterior airbrushing and a premium custom exterior hand painting by a professional artist.

We can airbrush the exterior of your model in one color $50.  If you have opted to not print the glass so that you can see through the windows into the interior of the model then, in our experience, the one color should be close to the color of the plastic used to make the model.  The defaul plastic color is a natural cream/ivory.  This is because for $50 we are not masking off each window to prevent the color from spraying into the interior.

As a premium service we can custom hand paint the exterior of your model per your materials and color specs.  This is done by a professional artist.  The cost will depend on the number of colors and detail.  For example, a 1/8 scale 2500 sf, 2 story, 3 color house cost $900 to paint.

Custom Clear Case

The is a 5 sided clear acrylic case with a black base. This case was custom made for $100.

3d Cad conversion to STL

We can import your 3d cad files and try to convert it to the STL file required for 3d printing.

If we have the program to open and convert your 3d file then we will NOT charge an extra fee.

If we do NOT have the necessary programs then we will have charge $50 to convert the file.

 

Hand Drawn conversion to 3d Cad file

We can use your hand drawn plans or sketches to create the 3d file required to send to our 3d printers.

This obviously will take many more hours and possible coordination with the client to get the 3d file perfectly accurate.

We normally charge up to 2x the amount listed on the 2d to 3d conversion page for converting hand drawn plans and sketches.
